Kansas Grower/Market Directory Rollout Coming Soon—

Please—Update your farm/business/organizational info.

The long-anticipated Kansas Grower/Market Directory will be up and running by January 2025.

This grower-driven directory will give Kansas growers, markets, and specialty crops-related organizations the ability to search and find others growing specific crops, access to growers to provide market opportunities, and access for markets to build supplies of produce—with capacity to search by crops grown, sales and distribution venues, and by location/region, and much more. We’re working on building more data fields and search capacity for things like how you cultivate (high tunnel, organic, high density orchards, hydroponic, etc.) as well as a distance-based search capacity.

Trial search engine—with partial listings of growers and markets, looks like (below):

The directory will be available to everyone in our KSCGA database for an initial trial period—and then for our dues paying members. Watch for membership notices to remind you to renew or join as a new member. To join or renew, please go to: www.kscga.org/membership.

Again—Make sure your farm, market, or organization has up-to-date information listed on the directory by completing a survey/update form at: https://johnsoncountyextensioneducationfou.my.site.com/FarmSurvey/s/ (instructions below).

We’ll be monitoring surveys coming for populating the database—and correct any glitches that may arise—and get the directory up and running!

Instructions for grower/market survey form:

If you’ve become a member or requested to be put on our mailing list, at some time, you’ve completed a survey form asking for info on your operations, crops grown, how you market and sell your products, and pertinent issues affecting your efforts. As we move ahead with implementing the directory platform, this survey form will replace our previous means to collect information. Information provided on these survey forms will be used to update your growing information that will be visible to people looking for certain crops, sales venues, and more.

  • If you’ve filled out survey forms in the past, try to use the same Farm Name, Your Name, and Email as you’ve entered in the past, as the new survey will be linked to your KSCGA account through these.

  • If you’re new to KSCGA, your survey information will be used to create an account in our database.

  • Make sure to list all your primary crops and sales venues on the survey—as your new survey completed will provide the information for search fields related to your operations..

  • Be attentive to spelling when entering crops and other fields, as the search engine will not list you on a search for specific crops, etc. if items are misspelled. For example, if you accidentally type in “aples,” someone searching for “apples” will not see you in their search results.

  • Markets, wholesalers, etc.: We’ll be expanding our entry and search fields as we move ahead. For now, check your appropriate type of selling operations in the question How do you sell your products/produce?
